The Dark Knight Rises

This was the second project for my Illustrated Portrait class. We had to go out and see a movie that was currently in theatres, and then create a (hypothetical) poster for it. The Dark Knight Rises still happened to be in some theatres (even in September), soooooo I chose it for my illustration.

**So I suppose if you don't want to read any spoilers, just stop reading and keep looking at the pretty picture.**

In this film, Bruce is at the point where he is realizing that he may need to leave his Batman persona behind for good. The bats represent his childhood fear, his past, and the part of his life spent as Batman. All of that is now coming apart and becoming less of a part of him, thus the bats are flying away.

It was a bit tricky to get the right combination of Bruce and Batman, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.
